The Problem

The existing live trading platform required traders to manually manage one game at a time. This created a significant operational bottleneck, preventing scalability and increasing the risk of costly errors. The core challenge was to shift the trader’s role from a manual operator to a strategic supervisor.

The Goal

To design a new UX paradigm that empowers a single trader to confidently supervise over 50 concurrent games, transforming the tool into a sophisticated decision-support system.

The Process

Our approach was rooted in a deep understanding of the user and the business, moving from broad discovery to a concrete, validated vision.

  1. Discovery & Research: I led stakeholder interviews and workflow analysis sessions to map the current state. This produced key artifacts like User Personas, Data Flow Diagrams, and a User Journey Map that clearly identified trader pain points.

  2. Strategy & Alignment: Based on the research, I established four core design principles (Supervisory, Context-Aware, Scalable, Trustworthy) and formalized them in a UX Strategy Document to align all teams on a shared vision.

  3. Concept & Design: I translated the strategy into tangible blueprints, creating Wireflows for key tasks. The design process evolved from low-fidelity concepts to high-fidelity, interactive prototypes in Figma, which were used for iterative feedback and validation with traders.

The Solution

The final vision is a dashboard concept centered on enabling strategic oversight through four key features:

  • Supervisory Dashboard: An “at-a-glance” view of all games, using cards to display only critical, real-time data.

  • Smart, Contextual Alerts: Actionable alerts that explain the “why” behind a notification, allowing for rapid decision-making.

  • “Trader Assist” Mode: A hybrid system that allows for surgical manual overrides of specific markets without disrupting the overall automation.

  • “What-If” Simulation Tools: A feature enabling traders to proactively model the impact of future game events on market odds.

The Outcome

This strategic initiative delivered a clear, validated vision that achieved significant business impact:

  • Secured Stakeholder Alignment: The project unified product, tech, and trading teams around a single, coherent roadmap for the platform’s future.

  • De-risked Future Investment: By validating the core concepts with users, we provided the business with the confidence to invest in the new direction.

  • Established a New UX Paradigm: The vision successfully redefined the trader’s role, creating a foundation for a more scalable and profitable operation.
